Yes, Bed bugs are obligatory hematophagous (bloodsucking) insects, but “rest assured“, most species feed on humans only when other prey are unavailable. Remember, bed bugs are attracted to their hosts primarily by carbon dioxide...  secondarily by, umm...  their body heat!
