“Will and I have always wanted to construct a ‘group rig’ of choreographic puppets, with all of their movements in continuous mechanized syncopation. The puppeteer, connected to the ‘other’ puppets, would control all the movements of the similarly attired ensemble... which would all be moving in unison, producing a single effect.”

“Then one day we received a call from Barry Manilow’s stage production manager, who was trying to describe an idea they had for Barry’s upcoming tour and wanted to know if we could build it for them. He was describing the very same puppet rig that we’ve been wanting to build for years!”

“Anyway, we couldn’t wait to get on it, so we immediately got started on some drawings. This type of rig is really nothing new under the sun, and mechanisms like this have actually been built for years-  but it was great fun  to have the opportunity to figure it out for ourselves!”
